Written by the Salesian Antonio Casado, the “Youth Mass” uses the rhythms of music appreciated by the young, such as pop, rock, country, reggae and disco music. On the feast of St. John Bosco, the “Youth Mass 2000” was presented in Madrid, in the parish dedicated to Don Bosco.
The songs which follow the liturgical texts are accompanied by choreography which permits the young to praise the Lord through the voice and the body, in view of the fact that it is possible to harmonise the culture of youth, artistic expression and the expression of faith, say the Salesians.
We are still waiting for the local bishop to intervene with the same energy which his brother bishops show when it comes to forbidding the Tridentine Mass.
